Davin Driskill (he/him/his)

Chief Operating Officer

As Chief Operating Officer, Davin leads all corporate functions and directs all aspects of The Bernstein Companies' growing hotel and resort portfolio throughout the United States.  He began his hospitality career in 1995 as the opening General Manager of a 73-key hotel in Austin, TX. Davin joined The Bernstein Companies' in 1998 and after 8 years in various leadership roles across the hotel portfolio, he assumed leadership of the TBC Hotel Division in 2006. Today, he leads a team of 400+ dedicated hospitality professionals in the daily operations of TBC’s hotels.   In addition to operating the portfolio, Davin leads new hotel development and hotel acquisitions.  His brand expertise, deep industry knowledge, and passion for hotel design & construction have been instrumental in many award-winning projects, including the redeveloped Marriott International Headquarters and the Marriott Downtown Bethesda Headquarters Hotel. He received a B.S. in Economics from Texas A&M University.  Davin resides with his family in the DC area and strives to stay ahead of the pack on his Peloton.

Mark Zimmerman (he/him/his)

Director of Operations

As Director of Operations for TBC Hotels, Mark works with our hotel portfolio ensuring operational policies and procedures are implemented ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction, strong topline results, and notable profit margins. Mark started his hotel career with Marriott International over 30 years ago. Throughout the years, Mark has worked in full service, extended stay and select service branded hotels as, Operational Manager, General Manager, Corporate and Regional Director of Sales and Marketing and Market Director of Revenue Strategy. Mark joined TBC Hotels in 2015 as the opening General Manager of the Aloft Raleigh Hotel. The hotel has consistently been rated in the top of all Aloft hotels in the system and has been honored with numerous awards.

Mark’s hotel experience in numerous disciplines provides him with valuable insights that he shares with the portfolio.  Mark resides with his wife not far from Raleigh, NC and loves to travel to visit family in New York, Spain and Ireland.

Emily McAuley (she/her/hers)

Director of Digital Strategy and Communications

As Director of Digital Marketing and Sales, Emily works with the TBC Hotels’ General Managers and sales leaders to develop and execute digital marketing strategies to generate incremental online revenue. In addition to overseeing the hotels’ websites and search engine optimization, she ensures each property has a complete digital presence to capture both business and leisure guests.  Emily started her career hospitality sales in Europe in 1999. Her UK-based sales roles and hotel operational management experience in Greece laid the foundation for her role as a Director of Sales and Marketing with full service and select service brands and independent properties in the United States.

Emily joined TBC Hotels in 2014 as the Director of Sales for the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Annapolis and achieved substantial revenue gains in new and existing markets. Emily assumed the role of General Manager at the same property in 2019 gaining insight into operational leadership and the bottom line.  Returning to her passion of top-line contributions, Emily launched into her current role in 2021.   Creative outside-the-box thinking and relationship building gives Emily the tools to lead and serve the sales efforts for the TBC Hotels’ portfolio. Emily resides in Maryland with her two sons and loves to travel, especially to a long beach with a good book.

Gabrielle Grippo (she/her/hers)

Asset Manager

Gabi began her career with TBC hotels in 2019 as an intern. Throughout her numerous years of hotel operational experience with TBC Hotels, she learned the intricacies of the various sectors of hotels, including the transitioning of brands across the companies’ portfolio. After graduating college, she worked as a Rooms Division Manager at one of TBC Hotel’s properties during the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, Gabi was instrumental in assisting with driving overall profitability through effective management of labor and expenses.  Later, she brought her operational knowledge to the off-property portfolio team when she became TBC Hotel’s Asset Analyst.  Her ability to analyze the hotel’s portfolio performance while offering not only corporate-level savings, but also property-level support when it comes to profitability, performance, and even team management.   Gabi plays a key role in dispositions and acquisitions, coordinating smooth transitions for all parties.   Gabi received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Delaware where she studied Hospitality Industry Management and Business Analytics and currently resides in Virginia, visits family in New York, and ensures she stays on top of her workout regime.

Karla Baires (she/her/hers)

Director of People and Culture

Karla has carved a career within the organization since joining in 2006 as the corporate receptionist. Her remarkable journey exemplifies dedication, growth, and a passion for fostering a positive work environment.   Karla's ascent through the ranks began in 2011 when she made a pivotal transition to the Human Resources department. Over the years, she has demonstrated an innate understanding of the intricacies of HR, showcasing her aptitude for managing day-to-day administration and ensuring compliance with HR regulations. Her invaluable contributions extend beyond mere compliance, encompassing a holistic approach to talent management.    In her current role, Karla shoulders the responsibilities of hiring top-tier talent, orchestrating seamless onboarding processes, and devising strategies for employee retention. Her impact is not confined to the operational realm; she is a driving force behind shaping and perpetuating the company culture at TBC Hotels.    Karla's journey from corporate receptionist to Director of People and Culture stands as a testament to her resilience, adaptability, and unwavering commitment to the organization's success.     Karla resides in Northern Virginia and enjoys family time on the weekends.
