Chief Operating Officer
As Chief Operating Officer, Davin leads all corporate functions and directs all aspects of The Bernstein Companies' growing hotel and resort portfolio throughout the United States. He began his hospitality career in 1995 as the opening General Manager of a 73-key hotel in Austin, TX. Davin joined The Bernstein Companies' in 1998 and after 8 years in various leadership roles across the hotel portfolio, he assumed leadership of the TBC Hotel Division in 2006. Today, he leads a team of 400+ dedicated hospitality professionals in the daily operations of TBC’s hotels. In addition to operating the portfolio, Davin leads new hotel development and hotel acquisitions.
His brand expertise, deep industry knowledge, and passion for hotel design & construction have been instrumental in many award-winning projects, including the redeveloped Marriott International Headquarters and the Marriott Downtown Bethesda Headquarters Hotel. He received a B.S. in Economics from Texas A&M University. Davin resides with his family in the DC area and strives to stay ahead of the pack on his Peloton.

Mark Zimmerman (he/him/his)
Director of Operations
As Director of Operations for TBC Hotels, Mark works with our hotel portfolio ensuring operational policies and procedures are implemented ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction, strong topline results, and notable profit margins. Mark started his hotel career with Marriott International over 30 years ago. Throughout the years, Mark has worked in full service, extended stay and select service branded hotels as, Operational Manager, General Manager, Corporate and Regional Director of Sales and Marketing and Market Director of Revenue Strategy. Mark joined TBC Hotels in 2015 as the opening General Manager of the Aloft Raleigh Hotel. The hotel has consistently been rated in the top of all Aloft hotels in the system and has been honored with numerous awards.
Mark’s hotel experience in numerous disciplines provides him with valuable insights that he shares with the portfolio. Mark resides with his wife not far from Raleigh, NC and loves to travel to visit family in New York, Spain and Ireland.

Karla has carved a career within the organization since joining in 2006 as the corporate receptionist. Her remarkable journey exemplifies dedication, growth, and a passion for fostering a positive work environment. Karla's ascent through the ranks began in 2011 when she made a pivotal transition to the Human Resources department. Over the years, she has demonstrated an innate understanding of the intricacies of HR, showcasing her aptitude for managing day-to-day administration and ensuring compliance with HR regulations. Her invaluable contributions extend beyond mere compliance, encompassing a holistic approach to talent management.
In her current role, Karla shoulders the responsibilities of hiring top-tier talent, orchestrating seamless onboarding processes, and devising strategies for employee retention. Her impact is not confined to the operational realm; she is a driving force behind shaping and perpetuating the company culture at TBC Hotels.
Karla's journey from corporate receptionist to Director of People and Culture stands as a testament to her resilience, adaptability, and unwavering commitment to the organization's success. Karla resides in Northern Virginia and enjoys family time on the weekends.

Katelin brings a wealth of experience and expertize in both hospitality and finance to the TBC Hotels Portfolio team. With a solid background in these industries, Katelin is well-equipped to handle a diverse range of financial responsibilities. In her role, Katelin oversees the financial planning and reporting of the hotels, performing due diligence to maintain the highest standards of financial integrity. She provides detailed analysis of the various financial aspects, utilitzing her background in the operations of hospitality to find and tell the story behind the numbers.
Katelin's goal is to continue growing in her field and to gain a comprehensive understanding of all functions from beginning to end, making her a well-rounded and insightful leader. She thrives on facing new challenges and gets excited about dissecting current processes to identify opportunities for improvement. Her proactive approach and commitment to excellence makes her an invaluable asset to TBC Hotels. Katelin resides in Maryland with her family and enjoys spending her free time doing outdoor activities with friends and family.
